About our website founder, Sheila West
Having taken dance lessons from the age of 3 and further theatrical training at the Arts Educational Trust in London, Sheila was eventually fortunate enough to join the Bluebell Girls and start her professional career in with a short tour in 1969 in Madrid.
This was followed by 3 years at the Lido in Paris and then 4 years in Las Vegas.
Sheila also performed in Hong Kong, Singapore, the Caribbean and finally London before settling down and getting married.
24 years on and still married to John, Sheila has 2 teenage children and, since 2000, a home in St Albans, Hertfordshire.
With interests in music, art and fashion, Sheila keeps busy with a bit of amateur light opera and of course, Dancers in Touch!
Ivan is the technical director of Dancers in Touch as well as co-founder with Sheila. He has years of experience in the IT and Internet industry which can only benefit and hopefully make Dancers in Touch a global leader in its field.
Ivan was born in Cape Town, South Africa, where he ran a thriving IT consultancy. In 1999, he immigrated to the United Kingdom, where he re-located his consultancy, which has continued to thrive. He met and married his wife, Debbie and they have two gorgeous boys, Joshua and Leo.
Ivan has many interests, which include chess, football, cooking and travel. He represented his country in chess, as well as his county at hockey. These days, he prefers to relax and watch footy on TV and dabble in the kitchen. He is currently writing a cookery book, which hopefully will one day be published.
